Cyrus Mistry, a former chairman of the Tata Group, passed away on September 4 in a car accident. Cyrus Mistry, Jahangir Dhinshaw Padole, Anahita Pandole, and Darius Pandole were the four occupants of the Mercedes GLC at the time of the collision.
The 54-year-old and Jahangir Pandole, who was also in the rear seat of the Mercedes vehicle, both passed away instantly. The incident occurred as Mistry and three other people were travelling back to Mumbai from Ahmedabad.
Photos obtained at the accident scene showed the damaged remnants of the silver Mercedes automobile. A road barrier caused the car to crash in Palghar’s Charoti neighborhood, 135 kilometres from Mumbai.
When the tragedy struck, Cyrus Mistry was travelling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai at around 3.15 p.m. Anahita and Darius Padole also sustained serious wounds that necessitated hospitalization, and Mistry and Jahangir Dhinshaw Padole died in the crash. Mistry left behind a wife and two sons.
At a government hospital in Kasa are Mistry’s mortal remains. The police have also submitted an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, stated on Sunday that he has urged the state police to undertake a thorough probe into the accident that took the life of Cyrus Mistry.
Top prominent politicians also expressed their condolences for the departure of former Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that his passing is a significant loss to the business and industrial worlds.

Who is Cyrus Mistry?
Cyrus Pallonji Mistry, an Irish businessman of Indian descent, lived from July 4th, 1968, to July 4th, 2022. He served as chairman of the Indian business giant Tata Group from 2012 until 2016. He was also the second chairman after Nowroji Saklatwala without a Tata last name. Mistry also served as the group’s sixth chairman.

Childhood and Education
Mistry, the younger son of Indian billionaire and business tycoon Pallonji Mistry, was born into a Parsi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
In the 1930s, Shapoorji Mistry, Mistry’s grandfather, first acquired a stake in Tata Sons. For almost a century, the Pallonji family has been active in business. The ownership, which presently accounts for 18.5% of the company’s shares and was held by Mistry’s father, is the largest block of shares held by a single individual. Mistry attended the reputed Cathedral and John Connon Schools in South Mumbai for his education.
He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in civil engineering from the University of London in 1990 after completing his studies at Imperial College London. He graduated from the University of London with an international executive master’s in management in 1996 after finishing his coursework at the London Business School.

Mistry started working as a director for the family-run construction company Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd in 1991. Mistry has held the positions of managing director of Shapoorji Pallonji & Company, a Shapoorji Pallonji Group affiliate, as well as chairman of Tata Sons and the Tata Group. In a 2013 article in The Economist, he was described as “the most prominent industrialist in both India and Britain.”

A year after his father withdrew from the board of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry joined it on September 1, 2006. He was a director of Tata Elxsi Limited from 24 September 1990 to 26 October 2009. He was a director of Tata Power Co. from September 18 till the present.
Mistry was named Tata Sons’ chairman in 2013. Furthermore, he held the position of chairman of all important Tata businesses. On October 24, 2016, the Tata Sons Board decided to oust Mistry as chairman of Tata Sons.
