Demons take over a young woman before her wedding in the 2013 Turkish supernatural horror film Dabbe 5: The Possession. When an examination reveals more horror, her friend, who’s a psychiatrist, asks a Hodja to attempt an exorcism.

The movie delves into the idea of Jinn, a supernatural being from Islamic mythology, which can be an intriguing twist for horror enthusiasts looking for something new.

A compelling plot with solid footing

From the shivering eerie opening to the frightfully terrifying conclusion, Dabbe 5 runs all the way to the finish line without stumbling. The picture masterfully maintains a steady tempo that prevents viewers from feeling as if it is attempting to drag itself through its two-hour duration.

The movie begins with a possession scene that terrified the fans to their core. For a whole week, the horror was maintained at a constant level, burning pictures into my eyes.

The story:

Dabbe 5, the film, which is based on the life of a Djinn Sare who has been deceived by two villagers, shows how the Djinn plans to exact revenge on the villagers for their wrongdoings and how their daughters fall into this Djinn’s trap.

The 2013 film “Dabbe: Zehr-i Cin” returns to the subject of possession, but it does it in a novel way. Zeynep, a young woman who begins acting strangely and violently, is the subject of the film. As they turn to religious leaders for assistance, her family is left feeling hopeless and terrified.

The movie does a fantastic job of keeping the suspense and tension high, and the exorcism scenes are especially terrifying.

Dr. Ebru, a psychiatrist in Turkey, is researching and documenting the exorcism practiced by a Hodja named Faruk. Her relative Kubra has been suffering from a mental illness for a while and is not responding to medical therapy; this endeavour takes them to her ancestral home in Kibledere.

They quickly learn that the town of Kibledere is a terrifying place where black magic has been practiced. When they encounter Kubra and her family, things become more sinister. Ebru’s scientific views and Faruk’s religious beliefs are at odds. And Faruk doesn’t understand why his strategy isn’t working this time.

Because Kubra’s condition is not as simple as it seems. They go on a terrifying odyssey in their desperate attempts to piece together the facts, which reveal shocking truths and a very unanticipated conclusion.

What works best for the movie?

A sense of creeping dread is created in “Dabbe 5” by concentrating on the protagonist’s mental and emotional struggle when they are being possessed.

The portrayal of the psychological and emotional toll on Zeynep and her family is “Dabbe’s” greatest merit. The spectator can feel their plight because of the obvious terror and agony they endure.

The special effects in “Dabbe 5” have been improved, which raises the level of the entire horror experience. In a way that is both visually striking and horrifying, the evil jinn and otherworldly phenomena are brought to life.

If you enjoy psychological horror, you should definitely see it.

“Dabbe 5” explores the idea of Jinn possession in a Turkish environment, providing a thought-provoking and sometimes unnerving experience for those who appreciate psychological horror with a distinctive cultural component.

The series explores the depths of jinn, possession, and the inexplicable; thus, it is not for the faint of heart. It creates a terrifying experience that stays with you long after the credits have rolled by using slow-building tension, smart character development, and genuine cultural background.

A must-watch for horror fans looking for a new and terrifying experience is the “Dabbe horror series.”
