After all, one of the most crucial aspects of travelling to the Himalayas is packing appropriately.

So the trip to Kasol was one of my friends first backpacking excursions. So they asked for my help packing. This gave me the idea to put together a blog to help my fellow travellers with items to carry and pack for Kheerganga trek in order to have a comfortable stay at the top of the mountains and carry all the essentials.

No matter where you are traveling, packing is one of the most important parts. It’s not always easy to get things, especially in regions like the hills where the weather might change suddenly.

According to the time of year and the place I’m going, I always have a checklist. The items I always carry are listed below. So as to ensure that you don’t forget anything important, I have made a packing list to assist my fellow travelers if you are traveling to Kheerganga trek or any other trekking place.

By the way, check out my thorough backpacking guide to Kasol from Mumbai if this is your first time visiting. It will undoubtedly be extremely beneficial. So, here is a thorough list of 6 items you need to bring to Kheerganga trek.

1.Warm clothes:

The weather at Kheerganga stays chilly all year. Even though you’ll be perspiring from the activity during the trip, you won’t need to wear a lot of warm clothing; nonetheless, you will need warm clothing for the evening and sleep. Make sure you always have two pairs of thermal pants on hand to keep you warm at night. A warm jacket, extra socks made of wool, and a woolen cap are additional items you’ll need.

2. Power Bank

One of those necessary items that is always useful in emergency scenarios is a power bank. We live in a time when going even a few minutes without something is unthinkable, as I mentioned earlier. Therefore, you definitely do not want your phone’s battery to die.

At the Kheerganga trek base camp, there may not be any places to charge your phone (although some tents do have charging stations), so why take a chance? Since Kheerganga trek is a stunning walk, you will undoubtedly want to take many pictures and movies, which will drain the battery of your phone. Therefore, in my opinion, a good, long-lasting power bank is a necessity.

3. Cap and sunglasses

Bring sunglasses and a cap to shield your eyes from the sun’s rays since it may get very hot in the afternoon.

4. Hiking boots and a pole

You should buy or hire a good pair of hiking shoes (waterproof and non-slippery) as well as a trekking pole for an easier and more convenient trip to the peak. A raincoat or a windcheater will also be necessary if you’re trekking to Kheerganga in August or September to keep you dry. Most importantly, pack a daypack of 10–20 litres for a day trek and a backpack or rucksack for lengthy travel.

5. Medical Kit

Small accidents like scrapes, bruises, motion sickness, shoe bites, fever, and pain are frequent on treks. Receiving medical attention while on a wilderness expedition is practically impossible. As a result, it is advised that you pack a small bag with all of your emergency prescriptions. By taking care of physical problems as soon as feasible, you will benefit.

6. Bug repellent

While trekking, there can be a swarm of insects. Since you never know when you might need it, you should always carry insect repellant. Getting sick while on the walk is not at all enjoyable. You can travel with a spray or lotion.
